Ten Guidelines From God

Effective Immediately,
please be aware that there are changes YOU need
to make in YOUR life. These changes need to be
completed in order that I may fulfill My promises
to you to grant you peace, joy and happiness in
this life. I apologize for any inconvenience,
but after all that I am doing, this seems very
little to ask of you. Please, follow
these 10 guidelines

1. QUIT WORRYING:
Life has dealt you a blow and all you do is sit
and worry. Have you forgotten that I am here
to take all your burdens and carry them for you?
Or do you just enjoy fretting over every little
thing that comes your way?

2. PUT IT ON THE LIST:
Something needs done or taken care of. Put it
on the list. No, not YOUR list. Put it on MY
to-do-list. Let ME be the one to take care
of the problem. I can't help you until you turn
it over to Me. And although My to-do-list
is long, I am after all... God. I can take care
of anything you put into My hands. In fact,
if the truth were ever really known, I take
care of a lot of things for you that you never
even realize.

3. TRUST ME:
Once you've given your burdens to Me,
quit trying to take them back. Trust in
Me. Have the faith that I will take care of
all your needs, your problems and your trials.
Problems with the kids? Put them on My list.
Problem with finances? Put it on My list.
Problems with your emotional roller coaster?
For My sake, put it on My list. I want to
help you. All you have to do is ask.

4. LEAVE IT ALONE:
Don't wake up one morning and say,
"Well, I'm feeling much stronger now, I think
I can handle it from here." Why do you think
you are feeling stronger now? It's simple.
You gave Me your burdens and I'm taking
care of them. I also renew your strength
and cover you in my peace. Don't you
know that if I give you these problems back,
you will be ri ght back where you started?
Leave them with Me and forget about
them. Just let Me do my job.

5. TALK TO ME:
I want you to forget a lot of things.
Forget what was making you crazy..
Forget the worry and the fretting because
you know I'm in control.. But there's one
thing I pray you never forget. Please, don't
forget to talk to Me - OFTEN! I love YOU!
I want to hear your voice. I want you to
include Me in on the things going on in your life.
I want to hear you talk about your friends
and family. Prayer is simply you having
a conversation with Me. I want to be your
dearest friend.

6. HAVE FAITH:
I see a lot of things from up here that you
can't see from where you are. Have faith in
Me that I know what I'm doing. Trust Me;
you wouldn't want the view from My eyes.
I will continue to care for you, watch over you,
and meet your needs. You only have to trust Me.
Although I have a much bigger task than you,
it seems as if you have so much trouble just
doing your simple part. How hard can trust be?

7. SHARE:
You were taught to share when you were
only two years old. When did you forget?
That rule still applies. Share with those who are
less fortunate than you.. Share your joy with
those who need encouragement. Share your
laughter with those who haven't heard any in
such a long time. Share your tears with those
who have forgotten how to cry. Share your faith
with those who have none.

8. BE PATIENT:
I managed to fix it so in just one lifetime
you could have so many diverse experiences.
You grow from a child to an adult, have children,
change jobs many times, learn many trades,
travel to so many places, meet thousands
of people, and experience so much. How can
you be so impatient then when it takes Me
a little longer than you expect to handle
something on My to-do-list? Trust in My
timing, for My timing is perfect. Just
because I created the entire universe in
only six days, everyone thinks I should
always rush, rush, rush.

9. BE KIND:
Be kind to others, for I love them just
as much as I love you. They may not dress
like you, or talk like you, or live the same way
you do, but I still love you all. Please try
to get along, for My sake. I created each
of you different in some way. It would be
too boring if you were all identical.
Please, know I love each of your differences.

10. LOVE YOURSELF:
As much as I love you, how can you not
love yourself? You were created by me for
one reason only -- to be loved, and to love
in return. I am a God of Love. Love Me.
Love your neighbors. But also love yourself.
It makes My heart ache when I see you
so angry with yourself when things go
wrong. You are very precious to me.
Don't ever forget......

I  have been thinking of sharing and re-living some of the school memories with everyone. I hope everyone will contribute. The mailing list is limited to only people from that era as only they would be at the same wavelength emotionally. Feel free to express if it's a good idea 

I personally feel that we all have made it in life in our own ways and most have grand kids now. I think we still can and should try to bring back some of the simplicity and the small thrills we shared in school.

I am starting with one and see how everyone responds...

It was 1965. I was in Chittranjan with Manoj Pal. As we all know he was a great guy and always very enterprising. He somehow convinced us around that he would conduct a weekly prayer puja and that we should all join and chip in. All agreed to the idea -after all it was puja only. The weekly collections, he would hand over to me to get 'parsad' burfi from outside thru Mr. Ajmer Singh (Mess Manager) - as he was known to our family.

The parasd would arrive - about 20 pieces of burfi. Before handing it over to Manoj I would quietly eat 2 pieces. So I always knew the balance count to be 18. When the parsad plate was uncovered before the murti - the count would always be 15 or 16 as Manoj by then had eaten 2-3 pieces himself. The taste of burfi used to be so great and tempting that occasionally he would bypass my services and get the parsad directly from 'Shinda at Greens'..I always knew his gameplan as then he would eat all 5 pieces himself and 'also' maintained the count to avoid detection incase someone was keeping a count. One can imagine the frustration I had but always kept quite and waited for my service chance.

Finally I couldn't take it anymore as the frequency for Shinda purchase increased. He didn't cut me off completely as he would get me involved once-in-a-while just to re-inject the credibility factor, incase anyone suspected.

One day I finally confronted him with the mystery of disappearing burfi pieces. He wouldn't confess first but when I threatened him with the wider exposure, he relented.

After that we joined hands and both preyed on the ritual parsad with our collective greed - until another guy somehow found out about our devious scheme..and everything came to an end.

Mr.HS Mattewal, Advocate General Punjab & the President of the Alumni Association visited the school as the Chief Guest on the Annual Athletic Meet in school on the 26th Of September 2009 alongwith 15-20 ex Saikapians.

He has given Rupees Five Lac to the School for upgrading Sports and other Infrastructure.

The LCD 46 INCHES was also handed over to the students and fee of cadet Lovinde was also given by the President.

A special thanks note was announced for Mr. RC Dhankar ( Rs.75000/_) and Mr Baljit Gill Rs.54000/- Mr Harmeet Singh Rs.5000/- for their respective contribution to the Alumni for these activities.

I have recieved a call from School Authorities for a couple of their urgent requirements. I have discussed the issue with Mr. Mattewal -The President Of The Association and Brig. Bajwa- the Vice President.

The first requirement is that there is a boy named Lovinder Singh Roll No-6412 studying in class VII and in Motilal House.His Father died when he was only 1 year old and his mother wastold to move out of her inlaws house and she is since then living with her mother and has no brothers etc. to support her. This boy is unable to pay his school fee amounting to Rs.54000/-The biggest question for all of us is can we allow a saikapian be thrown out of School for non payment of fees when we can contribute and let this boy study in the school and make it for himself and his poor mother ?

The second requirement fromschool is that School needs a LCD TV to be installed in Ante Room. I recall my days in school when a colored Tv was installed there. I think now kids can have a lot of information from TV on News Channels and Channels like Discovery and National Geographic. It shall be a good source of entertainment for them. I feel we should all contribute to mae this dream come true for School.

The LCD TV of 46 Inches is costing tentively Rs. 95000/- from LG.

I would ask all of you for voluntary contributions amounting to Rs.150000/- so that we can repay the great institution. I mysel shall contribute Rs.10000/- for this effort. I would expect a good response from all of you. We would like to present this to school on 26th September 2009.

Loss of Gp Capt SK Bhatia while piloting the ill fated helicopter carrying AP CM is a serious blow to Helicopter fraternity of IAF in general and Saikapian family in particularl. Gp Capt Bhatia was an experienced helocopter piolt with over 6000 hrs of flying. He wasa Qualified Flying Insructor too. Pray to God for granting peace to the departed soul and strength to family to bear the loss.

We mourn the sad demise of Gp Cpt Sunil Kumar Bhatia Roll No 1464 in the Andhra Chopper Crash alongwith Mr.YS Reddy. He was a Saikapian and Pilot. He is survived by his wfe and Two Sons.

Maj Gen Dig Vijay Singh Thakur has ben approved for the rank of Lt. General. He shall pick up the rank very shortly. He is going to be the fourth Lt. General From our School. We congratulate him for this wonderful achievement in his career

Col Satbir Singh has joined SainikSchool Kapurthala as the new Principal a month back. A farewel Dinner was hosted by Alumni Association to the outgoing Principal Col Tyagi at ASC Mess in Jalandhar. The new Principal was also invited and introduced to the representatives of the association and attendnts at the small get together.

The new Principal is from Army Education Core and has experiece of being Headmaster in Sainik School Tialya for 6 yrs and has also been intructor in RIMC Dehradun.

We welocome the new Principal and wish him all the best.

It is moment of great pride and honour that a saikapian (Maluk Singh, Roll No. 2428) led the Jaguar fighers formation in the Republic day 09 flypast at Rajpath.

On the 14th of January there was a meeting held by the office bearers of the Alumni Association in Mr.HS Mattewal`s office in Chandigarh. Brig MPS Bajwa was present there as the  vice president and Tejinder Kaushal.

The agenda  has been approved after a deep study and inputs from various channels. Recomendations of Saikapians around the world and their inputs to the association for improvements in various areas has taken the front seat. The association is thankful to Dr.Surjit Chahal, Sacremento California and Dr. Vijay Chopra Lecturer Punjab University, Chandigarh for their valueable suggestions. After a good discussion on various points the Assoc. has finalized and taken up the cause for betterment and giving productive shape to the commulative efforts of all ex saikapians. The message is we are together now and can make the difference.

The Agenda Points are as under:

1. Registeration of association as a Trust for exempting the contributions made by various sources from income tax.

2. Representation of Alumni in the Governing Body of the school for better inputs and improvements in the fuctioning of the school.

3. It has come to the notice of the association that stdents from our school go to places like Chandigarh and Delhi for professional NDA Coaching by spending money from their own pocket. We plan to organize specialized coaching for them to IMPROVE  their results in NDA enterance.

4. It has been observed that some very capable students have to leave the studies as their parents cannot afford the fee and basic requirements to continue in School. The assoc. shall support such students financially after recommendation from school and approval by the screening committee of assoc.

5.It has been a proven fact that Punjabis are good soldiers and are always keen to take up carrer in defence forces but lack of awareness in rural areas and financial constraints to admit their kids in Sainik School is a distant dream. The association with its widespread network of ex Saikapians shall launch an awareness campign through conducting seminaars and media publicity encouraging masses to join Sainik School. The needy parents shall be provided with books, coaching and financial support from the assoc.  

6.The association shall put in an extra effort by hiring professionals for students appearing in SSB to improve the results. The senior lot like Brig Bajwa shall organize the right faculty from his army contacts in and around Jalandhar who have established themselves in preparing students for SSB interviews.

 7.A special cell be fomed by the assoc. with help of distinguished Saikapians in various fields to guide the Saikapians to pursue their careers in different professions under the able guidance after they pass out from the school by clearing 12th standard.

8 .Various crash courses for competitive exams be organized and funded by Alumni Assoc. to the students after their 12th class for better preparedness to take up various careers without loosing precious time. The guidance at this stage is much required as has been observed by most of us who could not make it to NDA.

9.A room to be furnished in the school campus for visiting alumnus.

10.To motivate the school authorities to keep the assoc. well informed of all minor and major events plus acheivements  so that same information be passed onto the ex saikapians on regular basis.

11. The assoc. shall organize for one motivational lecture to the school students by Distinguished Saikapians every month. The assoc. shall co ordinate this effort and request one Saikapians each month to go and motivate the students.

12. Three Ex Saikapians shall be awarded each year on Annual Alumni Meet in school for seding maximum number of comments, messages and inputs on this site. This effort shall open a more interactive platform for Saikapians to share their views, memories and success stories.

i have been in the School till 1976 and we had malta raids,kitchen garden raids.i remember we had two guys who were killed in atrain accident while on a sugercane raid.well those were the days and if anyone remembers 1193 Attre .reply.i am at Dhramshala .
